Welcome! I am a PhD candidate in the Department of Politics at Princeton University. Broadly, my research examines ethnic integration, prejudice reduction, and peacebuilding in post-conflict settings, with a regional focus on sub-Saharan Africa. In my dissertation project, I explore the conditions under which confronting and teaching youth about past atrocities can contribute to peacebuilding and reconciliation. I draw evidence primarily from Nigeria, where I ran an original inter-generational survey of nearly 2,600 parents and kids across 1,300 households and a field experiment with over 3,600 students in 18 schools. My work has been supported by grants from JPAL's Learning for All Initiative and APSA's Doctoral Dissertation Improvement program. In the past, I have also conducted fieldwork in Kenya.Â
Prior to Princeton, I received a M.A. from the University of Chicago's Committee on International Relations, and a B.A. from the University of Florida, with a focus on African studies. In my spare time, I sing in choirs.
